Born and raised in Ankara, Turkey, Elif is a self-taught contemporary artist working between abstraction and figuration. What began as a quiet curiosity in high school gradually evolved into a practice guided by instinct, experimentation, and emotion. Now based in Austin, her work explores softness, contrast, and the subtle tension between color and form, often hinting at the human presence without fully defining it. Moving between the abstract and the figurative, her paintings carry a sense of vulnerability and emotional depth. Painting returned to her life during a time when expressing feelings felt difficult, becoming a quiet form of therapy. For Elif, creating is not just a process but a necessity and a way to stay grounded and connected to herself.
